We Will Not Be Silent: Resistance Is Rising Across America
From hate-fueled murders to federal raids and military crackdowns, communities are rising, fighting back, and preparing for the largest protest this country has ever seen.
I hope you’re all having as peaceful a weekend as possible, because watching the freefall of democracy in real time is enough to shake even the strongest among us. When the hell is someone going to pull the parachute? The ground is getting awfully close.
First, I want to apologize for the quiet on my end this past week. Work has been… intense, and the nonstop flood of breaking news headlines hasn’t exactly made it easy to write. Still, even amid the chaos, moments of light push through. But let’s not pretend the storm isn’t still raging.
And what a disgraceful time it is to be gutting NOAA, the very agency that helps us navigate literal storms.
Normally, I’d kick off Pride Month with celebration, visibility, and joy. And don’t worry, we’ll still get there eventually. But right now, I need to call attention to something devastating.
Jonathan Joss Gonzales, best known for his iconic roles as John Redcorn on King of the Hill and Chief Ken Hotate on Parks and Recreation, was murdered in a homophobic hate crime in broad daylight while visiting the ruins of his former home in San Antonio with his husband, Tristan. The home had previously been destroyed in a separate hate-fueled attack that also claimed the lives of their beloved dogs. See the statement from Jonathan’s husband, Tristan, below:

The man who killed Jonathan has been arrested but is pleading not guilty. As the community prepares for a vigil to honor his life, serious questions remain. Police records show officers were called to that neighborhood more than 60 times, with 10 of those calls made specifically about the accused shooter, including reports of disturbances and shots fired. And yet, nothing was done.
That is not just failure. That is complicity.
This law enforcement agency must be investigated. Period.
How are we, as LGBTQ+ people, supposed to feel safe in a country where law enforcement ignores warnings until it's too late? Where our lives are treated as disposable, our safety negotiable?
We must not be quiet. We must demand justice. Not just for Jonathan, but for every LGBTQ+ life that has been stolen by hate. We owe it to them to make sure their names are not forgotten and that their stories are not buried with them.
Let their lives live on through our resistance.
Let their memory fuel our fight.
Missoula Just Outsmarted a Bigoted Law
Montana passed HB819 to ban Pride flags on public property while allowing flags like the Confederate and thin blue line flags by calling them “historically significant” or “official.” Missoula used that loophole to fight back. In a nine to two vote, the city council declared the Pride flag an official city flag, making it legal to fly on government buildings and in public schools.
More than 100 residents packed the meeting, with many speaking in support. Council members called the move a stand for visibility, safety, and community. Council Member Daniel Carlino said the kids are watching and need to know they are supported.
Missoula joins cities like Boise and Salt Lake City that are using this tactic to resist anti-LGBTQ laws. Republicans are already threatening to rewrite the bill, but that will take time. For now, the Pride flag will fly in Missoula, legally and proudly.
Jacksonville Pride Marchers Light Up the Night in Defiance of DeSantis

In Florida, where the governor has banned Pride colors from lighting up bridges, LGBTQ+ Floridians made their own light. As marchers approached Jacksonville’s Main Street Bridge, it abruptly rose without warning, halting the demonstration. Undeterred, activists rerouted to the nearby Acosta Bridge and lit it up with flashlights, casting a rainbow over the city without needing the state’s permission. Organizers and lawmakers alike saw it as a clear act of resistance against policies aimed at erasing queer visibility. Pride, they reminded everyone, is not about permission. It is about presence.
When Tech Bro Meets Tyrant: musk and trump Implode

To reference the image above, does anyone remember that?
Talk about foreshadowing. YIKES.
The partnership between donald trump and elon musk was always more about power than principle. The richest man in the world and the man who once ran the richest country shared a stage, shared goals, and shared enemies. But over the span of just ten days, their alliance shattered in full public view.
It started on May 28, when musk criticized trump’s so-called big beautiful bill in a CBS interview, calling it bloated and disappointing. At first, trump played it cool. The next day, musk announced his formal exit from his government role leading the Department of Government Efficiency. trump posted a glowing farewell message and praised him again at a White House press conference, where musk showed up with a black eye and a tight smile.
But by June 3, it was on. musk went scorched earth, calling the bill pork filled, massive, and disgusting.
He urged Americans to call their representatives and vote it down.
trump accused him of being angry over EV subsidy cuts.
musk said he never even saw the bill before it passed, called it a disgrace, and resurfaced old trump tweets warning against deficit spending. He mocked them, asking if trump had been replaced by a body double.
Things got uglier by the hour. musk accused trump of hiding his name in the Epstein files.
Steve Bannon called for musk to be investigated and deported. trump claimed he had already fired musk and said he went crazy. musk threatened to decommission SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft and floated the idea of forming a new political party. He even appeared to back calls for trump’s impeachment.
By June 6, trump told reporters he was done with musk. The White House said there would be no conversation between them. trump now wants to sell his Tesla. musk, meanwhile, seems to be deciding whether to burn the whole house down or offer an olive branch.
This was never a friendship. It was an alliance of ego and ambition. Now it is a public feud between two men who think they are too big to fail, unraveling in front of the country they helped drag into this mess.
Let them keep swinging. We have better things to fight for.
Well. This picture aged like milk sitting on asphalt in July.

Pam Bondi Hit with Ethics Complaint by Dozens of Legal Experts
A coalition of around 70 lawyers, attorneys, and former justices has filed a 23-page ethics complaint with the Florida Bar against U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. The complaint accuses her of serious professional misconduct, alleging that she weaponized the Department of Justice as a partisan tool for political enforcement. It names specific victims of retaliation, including:
Erez Reuveni, fired after pushing back on the illegal deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia
Denise Cheung, who resigned after being asked to fabricate criminal cases
Danielle Sassoon, who left the DOJ after it ordered the dismissal of the Eric Adams corruption case
The complaint argues that Bondi has violated ethical and constitutional boundaries and should face formal investigation and discipline by the Bar.
And Just When You Thought It Couldn’t Get Better
trump’s most loyal supporters are finally starting to panic. He now wants to work with Peter Thiel’s Palantir to create a massive surveillance database tracking all Americans. That sounds like the exact opposite of what the so-called small government crowd claims to stand for.
Weren’t they all about freedom, privacy, and stopping government overreach? Whatever happened to “Don’t tread on me”? Now they are fine being stomped on as long as it is their guy doing the stomping.
Even white nationalist Nick Fuentes, one of trump’s most devoted supporters, is cracking stating this partnership is “the ultimate betrayal of his own people”.
Maybe I am being naively hopeful, but it feels like the tide is starting to turn. trump’s approval rating with rural white voters is already falling. Pushing a mass surveillance scheme is not going to bring them back.
Let it unravel. Let the cracks keep spreading.
Tucson: ICE Agents Posed as Utility Workers and Detained a U.S. Marshal
In a shocking series of events, Tucson residents are raising the alarm after ICE agents were caught impersonating Tucson Electric Power workers to try and detain a longtime undocumented neighbor. The agents wore no official uniforms and carried no marked vehicles. They claimed to be offering a free estimate, but neighbor Christine Cariño saw through the lie, spotted a badge under one man’s shirt, and ran to warn the man inside.
Her quick thinking likely stopped the arrest. She filmed the agents and shouted that they had no warrant and no authority to enter. ICE later confirmed the incident is under investigation but refused to deny the use of impersonation. South Tucson Mayor Roxanna Valenzuela praised Cariño’s actions and called her a hero. Legal experts say the tactic violates Fourth Amendment protections. The ACLU has already won a court ruling against similar ICE practices in California, setting the stage for national challenges.
In a separate incident, ICE mistakenly detained a deputy U.S. Marshal in the lobby of a federal building in Tucson. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, the agent was detained because he “fit the general description of a subject being sought by ICE.” His identity was quickly confirmed by other law enforcement, and he was released without incident. ICE and DHS have not commented further.
These events come as ICE, under intense pressure from the trump regime, pushes to triple its daily arrest numbers. On Tuesday alone, ICE reportedly detained over 2,200 people, the most in a single day since the new quotas were issued.
With agents disguising themselves and even detaining fellow law enforcement officers, it is clear this is not just about immigration anymore. It is a breakdown of law, trust, and basic constitutional rights. If ICE is allowed to operate this way, no one is safe.
Los Angeles Under Siege: trump Sends in the National Guard

Protests against immigration raids have erupted across Los Angeles, and now trump has escalated the situation by deploying the National Guard. Military vehicles and troops were seen outside the downtown federal building where ICE is holding dozens of people arrested during Friday’s massive sweep.
At least 44 people were detained in LA on Friday alone. By Saturday, protesters had filled the streets in Boyle Heights, Compton, and Paramount. Some blocked ICE vehicles. Others waved flags as tear gas filled the air. A burning car on Atlantic Boulevard marked the chaos. LAPD arrested 27 people downtown. LA County deputies reported injuries during confrontations and used what they called less lethal force.
trump claims the deployment is needed to protect federal agents and property. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Marines at Camp Pendleton are on high alert. trump has not invoked the Insurrection Act, but he is using Title 10 to justify the deployment. Legal experts are questioning whether he bypassed California Governor Gavin Newsom, who called the move a political spectacle meant to stir tension, not reduce it.

Congresswoman Nanette Barragán said the Guard is not needed and accused trump of making the situation worse. DHS claims they are there to protect peaceful protesters, but the images tell a different story.
This is not about public safety. It is about control. And the people of Los Angeles are not standing for it. They are fighting back, holding the line, and forcing ICE to retreat. What is happening in LA is not just protest. It is defense.
We are living through a coordinated attack on truth, dignity, and democracy. But we are not powerless. We are not alone. And we are not finished.
From Tucson to Los Angeles, from Missoula to Jacksonville, people are rising. They are resisting. They are refusing to be silent while communities are terrorized, rights are erased, and lives are lost.
We will not stop. Not until this regime is fully dismantled and remembered for what it truly is, the most egregious coup attempt in United States history.
And we are not waiting quietly. Mark your calendars for June 14.
The No Kings protest will be the largest this country has ever seen. Just take a look at the event map:

If you are located in Tucson, AZ, we will be doing a motor march! When I spoke with the event coordinators, they stated well over 1000 people have already registered!

We are taking to the streets with one voice and one purpose. To demand justice. To demand liberation. To say enough.
When that day comes, it will not be their legacy that endures. It will be ours.
The legacy of those who fought back. Those who protected each other. Those who refused to give up.
Let them come with lies, violence, and fear.
We will meet them with truth, love, and fire.
Stay safe out there everyone.
Look out for each other and protect one another.
We are in this together.
United We Stand.
Divided They Fall.
